Importance of Educating Women For Overall Growth of The Country

Poverty, gender inequality, population control, health problems, and economic conditions, all of these factors have a major effect on a country’s overall growth and development. Studying these issues further, you’ll find out that a common solution to these problems is education. Education for both men and women has been a matter of major concern in India, but it has tremendously affected the females due to the prevalent gender bias. The government is trying to change the current scenario by launching several girls’ education and women’s livelihood projects. But, there is still a need to keep a regular check on the proper implementation of the projects. Read on to understand why education is important for women in the country:

Women Empowerment

An educated woman will remain aware of her surroundings and becomes capable of thinking rationally. She comprehends her rights and duties as a woman and as a citizen of the country. To simplify, she becomes independent and will be able to contribute to her family’s all over income. Just like education it’s the proper implementation of women’s livelihood projects that can make a woman feel empowered.

Utilizing Complete Human Resource

Slightly lower than men, nearly half of the total population in the country constitutes women. Educating women will enable complete utilization of the country’s human resources and help in the nation’s growth and development. Educated women will be able to participate in smaller and larger projects of the country and contribute to the country’s national income.

Awareness For Population Control

The rapid increase in India’s population implies that the country is dealing with a major crisis in terms of population control. Countries with equally educated men and women have better population control. Educating both men and women instils sense in them to understand the causes and consequences of population growth.

Last Thoughts

Gender equality NGOs are working really hard to promote equality, but they need your contribution and support to keep functioning and attain this goal. They do receive funds from the government for the women’s education and livelihood projects, but when compared to the scale of the problem these funds are not enough. Your contribution to women’s education and livelihood programs in terms of money and voluntary services can make their work a lot easier.
